The Onmii board solves today’s problem with storing and organizing jewelry and accessories.

Most girls have an abundance of jewelry , big earrings , small earrings and armbands, cuff’s bracelets and the ” onmii “concept is the perfect organization solution.  This is something all girls need!

New to the US, Onmii creates brilliant products for storage and organizing accessories. The company partners with the best industry designers to help design their ideas. Onmii started, as so many other inventions, as a problem. Gry, the founder of Onmii,  was tired of looking for the right jewelry in the busy morning hours. ”Is it in the jewelry box in the bedroom, bathroom or living room?”  Gry developed a solution with the help of award-winning, industrial designer Johan Verde who managed to combine spectacular and trendy design and good functionality.

Onmii is flexible enough to suit all types of necklaces , earrings , bracelets and rings , while the beautifully designed Onmii board is a jewel in itself.  The core is Onmii Board , which comes in two sizes and can be hung on walls or used as table model.

“The large Onmii board has 211 holes. The texture formed by the holes is often associated with chinese checker. Onmii Flowerbuttons may be applied anywhere on the board, which will grant you freedom to organize jewelry of any kind and in any size. The board is designed to decorate any wall in any room without dominating the interior of your home.”

Spying a Ferrari…………………..hair dryer?

Filed Under (General) by Carolyn Akel on 08-16-2010

It was only a matter of time before the average blowdryer got a makeover.

And the Conair-owned BaByliss brand has teamed up with sports car maker Ferrari to create a new blow dryer, the Volare.  The blow dryer incorporates a ball bearing design to reduce friction and vibration and is made with real Ferrari parts which means it has 2,000 watts of power and can run for 2,000 hours.  Most hair dryers only run for about 500 to 700 hours.

The Volare is also lightweight and includes a turbo boost button to rev up airflow by 12 percent.  However, there are two downsides to the hair dryer, the obvious being the price as it retails for about $400! But even if you wanted to spend the money, good luck as it’s only available for use by professionals in hair salons.

Spying beauty vending machines

U*tique: Now expanding to airports, hotel lobbies and gym locker rooms, the first U*tique automated retail machine popped up in STUDIO BEAUTYMIX at Fred Segal Santa Monica just last year, supplying consumers with luxury personal-care products to address so-called cosmetic “emergencies.” Each of the machine’s items is presented to shoppers through a text/video presentation on an interactive LED display, taking the place of your usual sales rep (and minus intrusive fragrance spritzes). Mara Segal, the woman behind U*tique, was inspired to automate the high-end retail experience for a generation accustomed to on-demand everything. U*tiques are stocked with 50 skin, hair and health products from well-known names like Malin + Goetz, Frédéric Fekkai and Phix. We can envision aspiring Jane and Judy Jetsons becoming regular U*tique shoppers.

Luscious Lather au naturale –Ecolosophy by B&G Organics

Ecolosophy was developed byB&G Organic’s  Frank Baldwin, their award winning natural chemist (formerly of Burts Bees!) and Lisa Glass, their esthetics expert to create a line of naturally hydrating soaps.  I highly recommend these soaps.  They are delicious and smell wonderfully.  The soaps are long lasting, 100% natural, simple soap bars  - –  made with both natural and organic ingredients, essential oils, and cocoa butter, that not only cleanse your skin, but also soothe your senses.

B&G Organics has a great business philosophy only do they abide by green practices, their packaging is minimal and comprised of recycled and readily recyclable materials.  B&G Organics believes in raising the bar on what we , as consumers, should expect from both products and business everywhere.  A portion of the profits from the ecolosophy product line will support the Arbor Day Foundation, and their efforts to fight deforestation one tree at a time.   To purchase, www.bandgorganics.com

Spying a smart way to pack for summer trips

Filed Under (General) by Carolyn Akel on 05-17-2010

Pack Rat RX: I hate packing.  I overstuff my bag and everything gets wrinkled. At the end of each trip my husband and I guestimate what percentage I over-packed by – it averages around the 65% mark.  Luckily, I’ve discovered PakSmarte.   These clear (genius!) bags have three compartments that you can pack an entire outfit and accessories in. Wrinkle free, organized…I hardly recognize myself.  Created by a fellow over-packer, no doubt. You too can jump on the Pak Smarte bandwagon. http://www.paksmarte.com/
