Vending Machines Go High-End by cocoperez.com
Vending machines are no longer just more food and beverages.
San Francisco based ZoomSystems is continuing to roll out vending machines for beauty companies like The Body Shop, Proactiv and Sephora. For those who can’t wait an extra 5 minutes to stand in line, the touch screen display lets you make your selection and pay for it with the swipe of a credit card.
ZoomSystems founder and CEO Gower Smith says the one-stop-shop is “a new sales channel. It combines online shopping with the immediacy of product delivery.” He adds that the bulk machines have “generated found revenue because they are located along an empty wall or in the place of a bench.”
And they’re proving to be very successful. Last year Gower boasts that ZoomSystems and their partners generated $120 million.

I’ve tried one of these machines at LAX – they’re awesome! It knows if you’ve gotten your purchase or not and your card doesn’t get charged until you have what you want. it’s a cool way to shop, and I’m glad more stores are trying this out.
